The new Google+ app design for the iPhone and iPad is amazing and it is a totally new app. It changes the act of checking your public social networking updates into a very visual experience. The impact is quite attractive and very habit forming. We instantly discovered that we were investing a lot more time than normal in the new Google+ app for the iPhone and iPad just because it is a lot more enjoyable to browse through. For Google and the team the goal with the new smartphone app was simple: Make sharing less intimidating and more attractive.

That is why Google+ made the decision to modify the experience and go visual. The outcome is a Google+ app that is a lot nearer to Flipboard or Pinterest than Twitter or the Facebook applications. It seems more like a visual social bookmarking or picture app.
Why Did Google Release The New Google+ App For The iPhone and iPad Before Android ?
The big question we asked is why Google released this redesign for the iPhone and iPad before releasing a version for Google’s own Android platform. The answer to this question is simple apparently the Google+ team are building additional functionality into the new Google+ Android app. Also the iPhone iPad app with the core functionality was finished before the Android app was ready, so Google made the decision to go ahead and release it. The Google+ Android app is coming very soon and Google has hinted that it would include some extra surprises. Since Larry Page returned as Google CEO last April he has put far greater emphasis on product development by cutting the number of products that Google is working on and demanding higher quality from the ones that were left in development.
